I had been dreaming of Djenné since the Exhibition "Architectures of Earth", that I had seen at the Pompidou Center many, many years ago. This was one of the most beautiful voyages I ever had : meeting Sub-Saharan Africa for the first time, its music, the beauty and kindness of its people. On the background, majestic, flows the quiet and very wide Joliba river (who guesses why Europeans called it Niger?).
